Initial Seller Store Setup


The most challenging phase for a seller is joining a new marketplace. Sellers need to learn the unfamiliar interface, marketplace requirements, and sales conditions, followed by setting up everything according to these demands and their business specifics. This can be time-consuming and overwhelming, often causing sellers to give up halfway through.

To address this, the marketplace interface must be intuitive and straightforward. Administrators should promptly respond to seller queries and assist with setups. Likewise, administrators need to track the seller's setup progress to provide timely assistance if needed.

As the marketplace grows and the number of sellers increases, managing this manually becomes impractical. Automating the setup process, providing detailed instructions, and making them easily accessible is essential. The "Tariff Plan Templates" module was created to solve these issues.


Module Features


At first glance, the module might seem similar to CS-Cart's default tariff plan module, but its functionality is fundamentally different.

The marketplace may have numerous operational conditions depending on various factors:

  • Operational models: FBO, FBO+, FBS, DBS.
  • Product categories: Different delivery conditions for bulky items, perishables, jewelry, plants, etc.
  • Transport companies and interaction methods: Seller-managed delivery, third-party companies under the seller's or marketplace's contract, or marketplace logistics.
  • Delivery payment terms: Paid by the buyer, seller, or marketplace.
  • Return payment terms for unclaimed items: Buyer, seller, or marketplace covers costs.
  • Delivery services and tariffs: Detailed shipping conditions for each tariff.
Administrators create tariff templates with different combinations of these conditions, enabling sellers to select the ones that suit their needs. Each template includes:

  • Seller’s operational model, delivery method, payment and return terms, etc.
  • A detailed tariff description and step-by-step store setup guide.
  • Links to additional instructions stored in a "Help" section, if necessary.
A tariff essentially combines warehouse details, delivery service, method, availability for tariff zones, payment terms, and return conditions.
When creating a warehouse, sellers are prompted to connect an appropriate tariff from a filtered list matching their warehouse type. Each tariff includes a detailed description to help sellers make an informed choice. Once selected, a step-by-step guide simplifies the store setup process.


Moderating Tariff Plans


Moderation ensures smooth marketplace setup. Once a seller connects a tariff, it enters moderation with a "New" status. As the seller progresses through the setup instructions, the tariff status updates, allowing administrators to track progress and provide timely assistance.

Administrators can leave comments at each setup stage for team collaboration, ensuring seamless support even if a specific Admin is unavailable. Future updates will include a chat feature for real-time discussions.


Seller Options for Deactivating or Deleting Tariffs


Sellers may need to deactivate or delete tariffs for various reasons. Administrators can configure privileges to allow such actions based on specific tariff statuses. If a tariff is disabled or deleted, the linked warehouse is also disabled, halting sales from that warehouse until the tariff is reactivated.
