Extension to CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor allows auto-changing order of banners in store, without having to manually set them up. The addon can work with any banner block, you just need to know its ID, which can be read in block management.
We start from installing an extension:
After installation, in menu Marketing -> Banners, a new option appears which allows you to define logic of banner order changes.
When adding records, we must define a name (which is only informational), ID of block containing banners, and select order of banners. Currently, two are available:
- Random: whenever a block is displayed, an order of banners will be random.
- Newest first: recently added banners will appear first, oldest ones will appear last.
In above example, we modify the main block with banners in store. This causes the first banner visible to change after refreshing page, as shown below.
Key Features and Workflow:
- Installation and Setup:
- Configuring Banner Order Logic:
- When adding a record, you need to define:
- Name: An informational label for your reference.
- Block ID: The ID of the block containing the banners. This ID can be obtained from the block management section.
- Order Logic: Choose how the banners should be ordered. Currently, two order logic options are available:
- Random: Every time the banner block is displayed, the order of banners will be randomized.
- Newest First: The most recently added banners will appear at the top, while older banners will move towards the bottom.
- When adding a record, you need to define:
- Example Workflow:
- Random Order: If you choose the "Random" option, each time the page is refreshed, the order of banners will be shuffled. This ensures that banners are rotated and offers an engaging experience for visitors as they see different content each time they visit.
- Newest First: If you select the "Newest First" option, the latest banners will always appear at the top of the block, while older banners will move down as new ones are added. This option is useful for showcasing current promotions, new arrivals, or time-sensitive offers.
- Visual Example:
- Once the configuration is applied to a banner block, the first banner displayed will change every time the page is refreshed, as seen in the example below. If "Newest First" is selected, you will see the most recently added banner at the top of the block.
Benefits:
- Dynamic Banner Rotation: The automatic change of banner order helps keep the website fresh by showcasing different banners without requiring manual intervention.
- Better Promotion Visibility: With the "Newest First" option, new banners or promotions are given priority, ensuring that visitors see the most up-to-date offers.
- Engaging User Experience: The random order option ensures that customers are exposed to a variety of banners, keeping the shopping experience varied and engaging.
- Efficient Banner Management: This extension reduces the need to manually update the order of banners in the banner block, saving time and effort for store administrators.
