The Soft Solid Payment -> Order Status - ss_paystatus extension for CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor simplifies order management by allowing administrators to set default order statuses based on the payment outcome (successful or unsuccessful). This helps streamline the process of managing many orders and ensures that order statuses are automatically updated according to payment results.
The Soft Solid Payment -> Order Status extension simplifies order management in CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor stores by automatically setting order statuses based on payment outcomes. It improves operational efficiency by reducing manual intervention, streamlining notifications, and ensuring customers are notified only about the final order status. This is especially beneficial for stores handling a large number of transactions, making the order management process faster and more efficient.
Extension to CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor allows to set default order status to each payment. It makes managing many orders easier and faster operate them.
We start from installation the module:
In add-on configuration, we're able to determine which order statuses should be treated as correct payment, and which as incorrect payment. It is also possible to disable base order notifications, so customers will receive only notification related to last status of order.
Now we open "Payment methods" menu, choose payment and set order status which will be set, depending on if payment completed correctly or incorrectly.
When customer places order using payment with default order status, it will be set depending on payment result.
Key Features and Workflow:
- Installation:
- Configuring Order Status Based on Payment:
- In the add-on configuration settings, administrators can define which order statuses should be assigned for successful payments and which should be set for unsuccessful payments.
- This eliminates the need for manual updates to order statuses after payment processing, saving time for store administrators.
- Disable Base Order Notifications:
- The extension allows administrators to disable base order notifications, ensuring that customers receive only the most relevant notification, specifically the one related to the last status of the order.
- This reduces the risk of customers receiving multiple notifications for the same order, especially when there are multiple status updates.
- Assigning Payment Status to Order:
- Under the "Payment Methods" menu, administrators can select a payment method and assign an order status for that payment, depending on whether the payment was processed correctly or incorrectly.
- For instance, a payment marked as successful can trigger an order status like "Paid", while a payment failure might set the status to "Payment Failed" or another custom status.
- Automatic Order Status Update:
- When a customer places an order and the payment is processed using a configured payment method, the system will automatically update the order status based on the result of the payment:
- Successful payment: The order status will change to the designated "correct" payment status (e.g., "Paid").
- Unsuccessful payment: The order status will be updated to the configured "incorrect" payment status (e.g., "Payment Failed").
- When a customer places an order and the payment is processed using a configured payment method, the system will automatically update the order status based on the result of the payment:
Example Use Case:
- Scenario 1: A customer makes a purchase using a credit card payment method. If the payment is successfully processed, the system will automatically set the order status to "Paid". If the payment fails, the order status is updated to "Payment Failed", notifying the customer and the store Admin about the issue.
- Scenario 2: A store administrator might want to disable multiple notifications for an order and instead send only the final status notification. If a customer’s order changes status due to payment issues (e.g., from "Pending" to "Payment Failed"), the customer will only receive the notification for the last change, such as the failed payment notification.
Benefits:
- Automated Order Status Updates: The extension reduces the need for manual intervention by automatically updating the order status based on payment results.
- Efficient Order Management: By streamlining the process of setting order statuses, administrators can more easily manage and track orders, especially in high-volume stores.
- Simplified Notifications: Customers receive only the final order status notification, which avoids confusion caused by multiple updates for the same order.
- Customizable: Administrators have the flexibility to configure which statuses are used for successful and unsuccessful payments, tailoring the process to their store's needs.
