The Soft Solid Promotions - Activate Promotions Depending on Previous Orders Placed (ss_prom_step_order) extension for CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor enables store owners to create promotions that are triggered based on the order history of customers. This provides more control over promotional campaigns by tying them to specific order conditions, ensuring that promotions are offered only when certain criteria are met.
The Soft Solid Promotions - Activate Promotions Depending on Previous Orders Placed (ss_prom_step_order) extension is a powerful tool for CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor store owners to control their promotions more effectively. By creating step-based promotions that are triggered by order history, you can incentivize repeat purchases, manage daily promotional limits, and reward loyal customers in a structured and predictable way. This extension provides flexibility in how promotions are structured, ensuring they are aligned with business goals and customer behavior.
Extension to CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor allows creating promotions which will trigger only if certain orders were placed before.
We start from installing an extension:
In add-on configuration we can define, which order statuses mean that order has been completed, for conditions calculation purposes.
ss
Add-on enables three new conditions:
- "activate promotion at most N times during the day" - lets you limit how many times promotion can be triggered per day. After exceeding the limit, promotion will not trigger anymore.
- "activate promotion only if sum of orders placed with this promotion today does not exceed N" - works in similar fashion as previous one, but checks sum of orders instead of number of orders.
- "activate promotion for every Nth order fulfilling its conditions" - allows creating promotion which triggers upon certain number of orders being placed. If condition contain 2, first two orders won't get promotion, third one will. Fourth and fifth will not receive promotion, sixth will, and so on.
On below example we can see that every third order received a discount.
Key Features and Workflow:
- Installation and Configuration:
- The extension is installed and configured through the Add-ons tab in the Admin panel.
- After installation, you can define the order statuses that indicate a completed order. This is important for calculating the conditions under which the promotion can be triggered.
- New Promotion Conditions:The extension introduces three new promotion conditions that allow for more flexibility and control:
- "Activate promotion at most N times during the day":
- This condition allows you to limit how many times a promotion can be triggered within a single day. Once the limit is exceeded, the promotion will no longer be triggered on subsequent orders for that day.
- "Activate promotion only if the sum of orders placed with this promotion today does not exceed N":
- This condition works similarly to the previous one, but instead of limiting the number of times a promotion can be triggered, it limits the total value (sum) of orders placed with the promotion on a given day.
- "Activate promotion for every Nth order fulfilling its conditions":
- This condition enables you to create promotions that are triggered based on the number of orders a customer has placed. For example, the promotion will only trigger on the Nth order. If set to trigger on the 3rd order, the first two orders won’t receive the promotion, but the third order will, and so on.
- "Activate promotion at most N times during the day":
- Example of Promotion Triggering:
- In the example shown, every third order receives a discount. This allows for targeted promotions that reward customers after a certain number of orders. For instance, the promotion can be set to trigger only after the third, sixth, ninth, etc., order has been placed by a customer.
- Promotions Based on Order History:
- Promotions are activated based on the customer’s previous order history, creating a step-based promotion system. For example, customers who have already placed two orders might be eligible for a discount on their third order, fostering customer loyalty and incentivizing repeat purchases.
- Managing Promotion Triggers:
- The promotion is automatically calculated based on the criteria defined in the conditions, allowing for dynamic promotion management without manual intervention each time a customer qualifies for a promotion.
Benefits:
- Targeted Promotions: This extension lets you create promotions that target customers based on their buying history, rewarding repeat purchases and encouraging loyalty.
- Better Control Over Campaigns: Store owners can precisely control when promotions are triggered, avoiding over-discounting and ensuring that campaigns are used strategically.
- Customizable Limits: The ability to set limits based on the number of orders or the total order value helps prevent promotions from being overused and ensures they are more effective.
- Customer Retention: By offering promotions for specific milestones (like every third order), you encourage customers to return to your store and place additional orders to unlock the next promotion.
- Increased Sales: These step-based promotions can drive sales by incentivizing customers to make more purchases to reach the required threshold for receiving a discount or reward.
Example Use Cases:
- Loyalty Reward Program:
- Create a promotion that gives a discount or special offer after a customer has placed a certain number of orders. For example, every 5th order could receive a 10% discount.
- Daily Promotion Limits:
- Limit promotions to a certain number of redemptions per day to avoid overwhelming your store with excessive discounts, especially during peak periods.
- Conditional Discounts:
- Offer discounts based on the total order value placed with the promotion during the day. For example, a discount could be offered if the total order amount from promotion use exceeds a certain threshold.
